I know I am uber excited for the start of 2018. I’m kinda a goal setting junkie. I had my 2018 planner purchased in October and was already starting to think of personal goals, spiritual goals and then blog goals. If you don’t have one already, a planner that is, and are in the market for one. I highly recommend the Whitney English planners. I have been using them for about 3 years now and I love it!
The beginning on the planner has you analyze yourself. The things you value, the things you’re strong or good at and then your passions. From there she has you drill down on each of those so you stay focused on the goals where those three things intersect. So you’re saying YES to the things that fit in those categories and NO to the things that don’t.
Then she has you set 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month goals that fit in the categories above. It has helped me stay focused, driven and set realistic achievable goals! Sometimes goal setting or new years resolutions can be overwhelming, but the way Whitney English has it laid out in her planner makes it easy and achievable. I literally just take one day at a time and go from there. Before I know it I’ve met a goal! Woohoo!
The past couple of months I have been starting everyday with a smoothie. It has helped me with an easy breakfast option in the morning that’s nutritious and kick starts by metabolism. The problem is, my method of smoothie has been expensive. I have been buying and making Daily Harvest Smoothies, which I’m sure you’ve heard of if you’re on social media at all. (it’s all over instagram, facebook and pinterest) While they are tasty and convenient because everything comes packed in a cup, they are not the most economical and one of my goals this year is to reel in the budget!
Soooo .. Make Ahead Easy Smoothie Packs it is!
Honestly I don’t know why I haven’t done this before. I can put anything I want into them to make it the flavor I want and stuff it with as much protein or fiber as I want. My plan is to buy in bulk at Costco or Sams to save on cost and then pack like 30 of them in less than 30 minutes! It’s honestly perfect for breakfast for me and more specifically my husband. Most of the time he probably skips breakfast and just has coffee. But this year he really wants me to help him with meal prep for breakfast and lunch. Well… with these Smoothie Packs breakfast is taken care of!
Today I made 4 different kinds of easy smoothie packs that I think you’ll love.
- Green Monster – that is filled with spinach, kale, chia seeds, blueberries and pineapple to sweeten it up and then banana to thicken it up.
- Pina Colada – with ground flaxseed for some extra fiber, pineapple and mango for a taste of the tropics and a banana. For this one you could even use coconut milk for an extra burst of “beachy” flavor.
- Berry Bliss – you guessed it! Gimme all the berries for this one and then I added in some spinach and chia seeds for good measure.
- Peanut Butter Cup – this one is my favorite because … well chocolate and peanut butter! This one literally tastes like a peanut butter cup, you’ll love it!
Let’s start off 2018 on the right foot, making breakfast an important nutrient filled part of the day that kick starts your metabolism! Mkay?!
These 4 easy smoothie packs are a great way to do that and seriously so easy you’ll be addicted!
Instructions
- For each smoothie pack: add all the ingredients to a ziplock. Be sure to remove all the air and place in freezer until ready to use.
- When you are ready to make, add all the contents of the freezer smoothie pack to the blender along with 3/4 cup of your choice of milk. (I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk. But you could use coconut milk or regular milk).
