Bourbon Chicken

A flavorful chicken dish named after Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana   This was a copycat recipe I found & modified of the Bourbon Chicken sold in most Chinese take-outs; which rarely use bourbon as a component. It's wonderfully sweet & spicy without being too hot. For kids that don't like hotstuffs, cut down on the pepper flakes! - Bourbon Chicken

Ingredients
Gluten free
∙ Serves 4
Meat
  • 2 lbs Chicken breasts cut into bite-size pieces, boneless
Produce
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger
Condiments
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce
Baking & spices
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar, light
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
Oils & vinegars
  • 1 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cider vinegar
Drinks
  • 1/4 cup Apple juice
Liquids
  • 1/2 cup Water
